Expectations run high as over 100 teams from across the UK and beyond gear up for ‘The One’ This gathering of like-minded grassroots youth football teams and coaches transforms into the ultimate grassroots showdown, fostering camaraderie and competition.

Tournament Format and Structure

Competitive Format

With 8 teams in each tournament, the competition is fierce yet fair. Teams kick off in groups of 4, playing three intense 20-minute matches. The top two teams from each group advance to the Champions Category 1 Super Cup, vying for the one-day national championship title through the semi-finals, and the grand final.

Abundant Game Time

Even teams finishing 3rd or 4th in their group find ample opportunities in the One Tournament Shield competition, also playing out a semi-final and final. This ensures plenty of game time for every participant, making the tournament inclusive and exhilarating. Every team is then guaranteed 80 minutes, and the tournament lasts 4/5 hours. Five hours or more with teenagers would be exhausting and we wouldn’t want to do that to you 🙂

Trophies and Medals

Victory brings tangible rewards. The champions, both team and individual players, claim a team trophy and individual medal each. Every participant receives a participation medal, adding to the memorabilia of a day filled with football brilliance.

Eligibility and Registration

FA Affiliation and Player Criteria

Teams entering the tournament must have an FA team affiliation number, or if an international team you will be registered with your country’s governing body or school. Players who have participated in a Premier League or Football League club academy in the 23/24 season are not eligible for The One but can enter our other tournaments like The One 8v8 World Club Championship, or England Experience.  Please contact us for any clarifications.
