- Who are One Tournament
With over 30 years of experience in sports development and event management. One Tournament ensures our tournaments are well organised and provide all participants with an enjoyable sporting experience. The goal is to be that One Tournament that players look back on when remembering their favorite football moments.
We have a range of one-off tournaments and football tours abroad throughout the year, catering to teams of all abilities and budgets. How long do tournaments last?
Tournaments last between 4-5 hours depending on age groups and they take place in the AM or PM
KO times can be found on the booking pages on the website
Do all players get a medal for taking part?
Every player that attends our tournaments will receive a bespoke medal as a memento of the day.
What do the winners get?
Teams that win the tournament win a trophy and all players that take part in the final will receive a bespoke winners’ and runners up medal.
How many players can you bring on the day?
We made a conscious decision not to put a limit on squad sizes as we would hate for any players to miss out on a great day out with their football family. However we do ask for team managers to be sensible with their team selection to make sure that all players get plenty of game time

Can we bring guest players to the tournament?
Teams are permitted to register a maximum of two ‘guest players’ at the One Tournament Nationals providing they meet the player eligibility requirements
Guest players are players who are not registered with your team but are eligible to play by age. Please note Academy players (Boys) and RTC/PGA players (Girls) are not permitted to play in this tournament, and you will be required to provide documentary evidence to confirm players eligibility

Can unaffiliated teams play in the One Tournament?
Not in the One Tournament Nationals, all teams attending the One Tournament Nationals must be affiliated to a County Football association in the 2024-25 season and all players must be registered on the FA’s Whole Game System (WGS)
We do run our World Club Cup Championships and this tournament is open to affiliated and noon affiliated teams. See the WCC information pages for more details of who is eligible to take part

What is the length of the games?
Game lengths will vary between different age groups, the format that your team is playing in and the number of teams that have entered the tournaments, but we do try to guarantee teams a minimum number of minutes when the attend our tournaments. See table below for more info

Do teams need to bring player ID documentation with them to the tournaments?
All teams should be able to provide player identification documents when attending our tournaments to confirm players eligibility
Identification documents include WGS Registration Documents, Player ID Cards, Birth Certificate or Passport (for guest players)
Do you check all players ID documents on the day?
We don’t check all players identification documentation on the day of the tournament, but we do carry out spot checks to help ensure that teams are playing by the rules and not fielding ineligible players
In the event that a player’s ID cannot be confirmed there will be a no play policy for the players in question and could lead to teams being disqualified from the tournaments.
Can players play up an age group?
Players are permitted to play up one age group and the following age qualifications apply for this year’s tournaments

Please note, in accordance with FA rules, once a player has turned 6 years of age, they will be permitted to participate in the U7 age section at One Tournament 2025
Can boys and girls play together?
Boys and girls are permitted to play together in all age groups up until U16s in line with FA rules and regulations
What time should we arrive?
Teams can arrive up to 1 hour before the tournament KO time
Will there be a team manager briefing on the day?
Due to the logistics of getting tournaments kicked off on time and with so many age groups running at the same time we send all team managers an on the day email 1 week before your tournament kicks off with all details about the day.
The on the day email will provide details about tournament rules, match fixtures and what to expect when you arrive. This can be shared with your players and their families so everyone knows how the day will run.
If there are any changes to the fixtures schedule or tournament rules team managers will be notified at the registration desk when you sign in
What should players wear on match days?
Astroturf trainers or moulded studs must be worn on artificial pitches (strictly no blades or studs to be worn in no circumstances)
All footwear including blades and studs can be worn on grass pitches
Full details of what footwear should be worn will be be provided in the on the day tournament email sent to team managers prior to the tournament kicking off
All players must wear shin pads
What about insurance?
All of our tournaments are sanctioned with the FA so all teams taking part that are affiliated to their CFA are covered by their club’s public liability insurance
However, this does not cover teams or individual persons’ public liability, personal accident, or injury whilst attending our tournaments.
We highly recommend that all participating teams, if they are not already covered, take out insurance coverage for these risks.
One Tournament also have Public Liability and Employers Liability insurance through One Tournament CIC
Can we cancel our place and get a refund?
If you book onto a tournament and cancel the booking within 7 days of making the booking, we will give you a refund minus 10% to cover the administration and booking fees incurred
Cancellations made after 7 days of the original booking will be non-refundable.

- One Tournament Nationals
The One Tournament Nationals is our flagship tournament for teams that are affiliated with their Local County FA.
This an exciting opportunity for young footballers to compete and showcase their skills on a national stage

Which age groups can participate in the tournament?
Boys: U7 to U12 Girls: U9 to U12
Please note, girls and boys older age groups can be accessed via The Big One 11v11 page which is a One Day 11v11 tournament with no regional heats.
What age group should we enter?
The One Tournament Nationals age groups are based on the 2024-25 season.
How does the tournament work?
The tournament is divided into four regional events where the winners of the tournaments will qualify to participate in the One Tournament National Finals in July
Where and when will the National Finals be held?
The National Finals will take place in June – 28th & 29th at Lilleshall
Do teams have to pay again if they qualify for the National Finals?
No, there is no additional entry fee for teams that qualify for the National Finals.
How much does it cost to enter the tournament?

Can we enter more than one team into a regional tournament?
Absolutely! Teams can enter up to maximum 3 teams per age group in each regional event.
Can teams enter different regional tournaments?
Yes, you can enter as many regional tournaments as you like. There are no geographical restrictions. However, please note that if you qualify in more than one region, you cannot take two teams to the finals
How will player eligibility be monitored?
We will conduct a thorough player eligibility check for all teams entering multiple venues to ensure that all players are eligible, and that no player competes in more than one regional event. This will be managed by the One Tournament Events team before the tournament and checked on the day. All players should be registered on the WGS, you are allowed two guests players who don’t have to be registered with your team.
What level is the tournament aimed at?
The tournament is open to all teams affiliated with their local County FA. However, it is best suited for mid to high-level teams. If you’re unsure about your team’s level, feel free to contact our events team at info@onetournament.org.
What are the player eligibility rules for the One Tournament Nationals?
Boys: In line with FA rules, academy players from U9s and upwards (2024/25 season) are not permitted to play. This does not apply to U7 and U8 players, as they do not officially signed for football league or premier league academies until U9. *If a player has been released by an academy they can play as long as its 90 days before the tournament date.
Girls: Girls playing in an ETC (Emerging Talent Centre or Girls Academies) can participate. This tournament is open to all girl players playing U12 and below even is they signed or training with an academy. They can still play for their grassroots club or as one of 2 guest players if signed for an academy team. This allows talented girls players who might only play for a boys team to play in a girls tournament for your team as a guest player, or an academy player to play in her grassroots team up until U12s. What are the tournament formats?

Teams will be split into groups where the top teams in each group will progress to a knockout stage that will lead to a final. Please note exact tournament schedules and formats will be dependent on the number of teams that enter each tournament and team managers will notified about tournament schedules 1 week before the tournament kicks off
Do you run Cup and Plate competitions at the One Tournament Nationals?
We run a cup and a plate competition for the U7 and U8 age groups but not in any of the older age groups.
Do you offer accommodation packages?
Yes, we do! Accommodation packages are available for all teams attending our tournaments. For more information, please contact us at info@onetournament.org.
- The Big One 11v11
The Big One is the biggest 11v11 one day tournament for grassroots football teams in the UK with over 300 team competing.
Catering for youths and adults this tournament is for everyone!!!
Who is this tournament for?
This tournament is for UK and International teams that are affiliated to their local or international county Football Associations or are a licensed football business/ group.
Do you offer accommodation and tour packages?
We do offer touring packages for teams wishing to stay overnight or extend their football tour, including accommodation, travel, trips, and matches. U.K. based teams and international touring teams please visit our tour page here.
What age groups is it for?

Will the tournament have FA referees and officials?
Yes, we will have 4 officials on each 11v11 pitch you do NOT need to provide a linesman/woman.
How much does it cost to enter?
The tournament entry fee is £264.99 so it works out at around £16 per player based on the average squad size of 16 players.
Will there be trophy for the winners?
Yes, the winners of each cup, plate and shield will receive a winners Trophy and Individual medal. Runners up also get a medal.
What is the format and how will the tournament run?
There will up to 20 teams in each age format, teams will be split into small groups. All teams will then progress to the knockout stages with teams finishing in 1st and 2nd place going through to the Cup competition and teams in 3rd and 4th place going through to the Plate/Shield competition.
Please note tournament formats are subject to change depending on the number of teams entering a tournament.
How many minutes are the games?
Games will be 20 minutes played straight through and all teams are guaranteed a minimum of 80 minutes game time on the day, make it through to the finals will play more game time.
Player Eligibility
All players must be eligible to play grassroots football by association to an affiliated grassroots football team or licensed football business/group. Girls and Boys Academy players are not permitted to play in any circumstances.
Guest Players
Teams are permitted to play up to 3 guest players at the tournament that are not officially signed to your club. Please note, guest players must be eligible to play by age and in no circumstances can academy players play in the tournament.

- Super Small Sided (3v3,2v2,1v1))
Super Small Sided (SSS) is our new tournament format that runs indoors in the winter ( so rain wont stop play) and outdoors from May to August. Find your local session via our Book & Browse page here
We have weekly midweek sessions at various venues so you can get those all important extra touches on the ball in between matches and training. We will also have one off bigger tournaments scheduled on the weekends.
We have fun tournaments for youth Under 5 and to adults, so keep you eyes peeled, whether you just want some extra minutes, a bit of fun with your mates, or try something new our SSS is perfect for you.
Games are played inside an inflatable 3v3 pitch 15×10 meters on a solid floor sports hall/4g/grass.
Games are usually 6-8 mins in length, and our usual tournament strategy is we have a cup, plate and shield opportunity so lots of chances to play a knock out game and win and for similar ability players to contest int he knock outs.

- The One World Club 8v8 Championship
The One Tournament World Club Championships is an International football tournament aimed at teams of all abilities across the world. We run this every two years so the next one is in 2026.
At this new flagship International tournament teams will be split into different categories depending on their ability and will take place over 2 days at the impressive Warwick University near Birmingham.
All teams taking part will play their 1st round of group games on day 1 of the tournament before progressing to a Cup and Plate competition on day 2 to see who will be crowned One Tournament World Club Champions, and World Club Plate Champions.

So how does it work
This tournament is open to teams of all abilities and we will be running categories for High to Mid and Mid to Lower level teams to ensure that all teams entering play at a level that suits their teams ability.
When entering this tournament teams will be asked to confirm what level they want to enter so we can put teams in the appropriate categories.

Is there anything to do onsite for teams staying over
There are plenty of activities on site for teams staying over including, gym, swim, climb, tennis or badminton. You can even hire out the gaming room or private cinema space. We will also be looking to put some evening entertainment on for players that are staying overnight on the Saturday evening.
How does it work with different teams of different abilities on the day
Teams will be split into different tournament categories depending on the level that they have entered.
This will ensure that all teams have a chance of being crowned One Tournament World Club Champions in any of categories.

One Tournament World Club Championships Formats:
This will be an 8v8 tournament for teams in all age groups
Teams will take part in their first round of group matches on Saturday before progressing to round 2 of group games and the knockout stages in a Cup and a Plate competition in their tournament category on Sunday.
Exact tournament formats for all age groups will be communicated to team managers one month before tournaments kick off in the on the day information pack.

Bed and Breakfast packages onsite start from £50 per person per night and there are options to add a dinner package on to.
All teams that are attending this tournament that are based over 90 miles away from the tournament venue will be required to stay on site at Warwick University and various accommodation packages will be on offer to teams to suit different budgets.
Teams that are based within 90 miles of the tournament venue will have the option to stay on site or to travel to and from the venue over the weekend.

Can girls’ teams participate?
Absolutely! We welcome girls’ teams U9 to U16, and they can play down a year alongside boys teams in the tournament.
Can academy players join the fun?
Of course! This football experience is inclusive, and all football enthusiasts are invited.
Worried about your team’s skill level?
No need to fret. Our tournament is open to all, and we’ll match teams on the day. Plus, there are multiple cups up for grabs at our tournaments, so everyone has a chance to shine.
Will we get to play on the Wembley pitch?
While we can’t promise you a spot on the hallowed turf, keep playing well and maybe Mr Southgate or Mrs Wiegman will call you up.
Don’t want to stay in a hotel?
No problem! If you prefer a day trip without the overnight stay, we can arrange a special deal for you. Just drop us an email, and we’ll see what we can do.
The tournament will feature 7v7 matches for all age groups, ensuring everyone gets a minimum of 60 minutes of game time. So, whether you’re U8 or U16, this is your chance to shine.

You can also stay onsite with your group making it a great end of seaon tour venue.
NORTH REGIONAL VENUE
Sheffield Hallam University,Bawtry Road, Sheffield, S9 1UAThis 6 million state of the art facility has several high quality grass pitches, all used by professional academy sides. Its one of the largest multi sports facilities in Yorkshire with a fantastic roof top viewing gallery for spectators.
The One Tournament Grand Final will be played at
Lilleshall National Sports Centre TBCSet in spectacular surroundings, Lilleshall is one of the UK’s National Sports Centres, training grounds and centres of excellence for the country’s Olympian leading sportsmen and women.
Our tournaments take place on the same pitches where England 1966 team trained. The former National Football centre still boasts high-quality ‘A grade’ grass pitches used by professional clubs.
